  • Western College (Westcol) is one of 50 public TVET colleges that comprise the Department of Higher Education and Training, according to this act. The CET Act is a piece of legislation that was passed in 2010.
    Western College is a TVET College on the CET Act’s list of Public Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges. Public TVET colleges do not require or receive registration numbers.
    The Further Education and Training (FET) Act, 98 of 1998, governs all FET institutions in South Africa, including both public and private colleges that offer programs in the FET and Higher Education and Training (HET) bands of the National Qualification Framework (NQF). Act 16 of 2006 amended the FET Act.
  • Western TVET College’s mission is to provide high-quality education and training that benefits both students and the community. For those interested in completing AET levels 1, 2, 3, and 4, they offer a variety of courses as well as public adult learning centers. (Level 1 NQF) If you want to take any of the courses listed below, this is the College for you.

There are no walk-in applications available!

  • Submit your paperwork; you will be notified of the status of your application via email.
  • Please read the minimum requirements before applying.
  • In the event of insufficient student enrollment, Westcol reserves the right to cancel or relocate a program to another campus.
  • We will contact you via email, so you must have an active email account.
  • You must check your email on a regular basis to ensure that you do not miss any communications.
  • All documents must be original certified copies, and the certification must be no older than 6 months.
  • Please ensure that the following documents are scanned in PDF format:
