Has your application for the SASSA R350 grant been rejected? This might be the cause.

The South African Social Security Agency says that there are a few different reasons why your application might not be accepted.

The following reasons are used to deny applications that do not meet the requirements.

The reasons why your application for the SASSA R350 grant was turned down:

  • If SASSA determines that you were employed as a candidate and that you have contributed to income tax,
  • If your personal information does not match those provided by the Department of Home Affairs.
  • If it is determined that you have previously received a social grant other than a child grant as the applicant.
  • if you are enrolled in the National Student Fund Aid Scheme and take advantage of its benefits.
  • if the applicant is currently receiving benefits from the Unemployment Insurance Fund or if they are eligible for UIF benefits based on TERS or contributions to UIF.
  • The applicant works for a government agency.
  • If you are over the age of 60 or do not meet the age requirements, your SRD grant may also be denied.
  • if you have been listed as deceased on the Department of Home Affairs database as a beneficiary.

Additionally, SASSA has stated that each and every application for the Special Covid-19 SRD R350 grant that is received is subjected to a monthly review to determine whether or not it satisfies the requirements.
