The applicant has met the requirements for admission to the Diploma as she is above 18 points 

Each program only accepts a certain number of students due to the South African Nursing Council’s accreditation of the program’s capacity. Even if you meet the minimum requirements, you won’t automatically be accepted into the program or registered. Tests and interviews will be required of candidates in order to further screen them.
Candidates who have post-matriculant experience or a certificate related to health will be registered according to the quota for that group, which is as follows:

    • Scholars: 50%
    • Candidates with pre-NSC Grade 12 certificate: 20%
    • Candidates with health-related post-matric experience/certificate: 10%
    • Serving Officers: 20%

Based on their registration with Lilitha College of Nursing (LCoN), a predetermined percentage of selected candidates will receive bursaries automatically. The Bursary Contract’s terms and conditions apply. The bursary will be retained by students who complete all of their courses and move on to the next level of instruction. If the following occurs, ECDoH/College reserves the right to revoke the Bursary distribution:

    • Students have not followed the rules of the college.

You must have an APS of at least 18 in addition to an NSC or equivalent pass in Biology/Life Science at Level 4 or D Symbol and English at Level 3 or E Symbol in order to register for a Basic Diploma.

An applicant has met the requirements for admission to the Diploma 

Candidates admitted to the program must be within the age restrictions as listed below: Enrolled Nurses and Auxiliary Nurses with a standard 10 certificate will be considered regardless of an aggregate symbol in the Grade 12 certificate.

Scholars: 18-35 year bracket
Serving Officers/Study Leave: 45-year limit

N.B. The Department of Education/Umalusi will verify your senior certificate as a quality assurance measure, and you are responsible for the associated costs. Keep in mind that submitting a forged or altered certificate is illegal, and the consequences include immediate dismissal.

 SELECTION OF CANDIDATES

Phase 2

The following system will be used to choose the candidates:

  • 50% will be males.
  • 50% will be females;

INTERVIEWS:

Phase 3

  • An interview schedule for prospective candidates will be created following phase 2’s completion;
  • The following stakeholders should make up the interview panel:
    • College management
    • Representatives from the campus
    • Labor representative
    • Social Compact
    • Stakeholders (Union Representative)
  • When a candidate is called for an interview, they are informed at the interview that if they do not hear back from the college after the interview, their application was not successful.

MEDICAL EXAMINATION

  • As part of Phase 4 of the process, medical examinations will be performed to provide candidates with assistance if required by the medical report.

FINAL SELECTION

  • The Campus Head will inform the chosen/successful candidates that training will begin on the first of February of each year, per the college administration’s instructions.

POST BASIC PROGRAMME R 212

The college also provides career advancement programs for nurses who have completed Grade 12 and already hold a professional nurse position in the nursing field. For these programs, a registered nurse must have at least two years of experience in the clinical setting and a current license to practice.

Accommodations and Transportation for All Saints Hospital Nursing School
