NSFAS Application 2024-2025: The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has opened its online application form for the 2024 academic year. Interested applicants seeking financial assistance for their studies at any of the 26 public universities or 50 TVET colleges can apply. The NSFAS funding covers registration costs, tuition, and allowances for learning materials, food, personal care, transport, or accommodation. The application cycle is expected to open on September 1 and close on November 30, 2024. To apply online at www.nsfas.org.za, follow the procedures outlined on this page.
Qualifications for NSFAS Application:
- South African citizens
- SASSA grant recipients
- Applicants with a combined household income not exceeding R350,000 per annum
- Persons with disabilities, with a combined household income not exceeding R600,000 per annum
- Students who began studying before 2018, with a household income not exceeding R122,000 per annum
Required Supporting Documents for NSFAS Online Application:
- Personal cellphone number and email address
- Copy of ID or birth certificate
- National ID copies of parents, guardians, or spouse
- Evidence of income or 1 year’s IRP5 if necessary
- Proof of income for parents, guardians, or spouse
- SASSA grant recipients do not need to provide income evidence
- Applicants with disabilities should submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form
- Vulnerable Child, as recognized by the Department of Social Development, should provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form
How to Apply for NSFAS Online Application:
- Visit the NSFAS Application website: www.nsfas.org.za
- Click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab
- Create a myNSFAS account (Click HERE if you don’t know how to create)
- Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab
- Update your personal information
- Answer the questions on the screen
- Upload all required supporting documents
- Finally, click ‘submit’
How to Check NSFAS Application Status:
- Visit NSFAS Status website: www.nsfas.org.za
- Log in to the myNSFAS account (Create one if you don’t have HERE)
- Enter User ID
- Type in the password created during the application
- Click “Track Funding Progress” to check NSFAS Application Status.
