For admission to higher certificate or diploma programs and candidates’ educational certificates, prospective students must meet the statutory minimum requirements based on the National Senior Certificate (NSC) or equivalent school leaving certificate.

  • Levels and symbols obtained during the June/September exams for Grade 12 or confirmation that the current employer is processing study leave will be used to determine provisional admission. However, the final decision regarding the applicant’s enrollment at Church of Scotland Hospital Nursing School will be based on the applicant’s grade 12 results, confirmation that the applicant has been granted study leave by the employer, and a determination that the applicant has not yet reached the pensionable age, which is 55 to 60 for all college programs.

Applicants have to meet the requirements for admission into the Diploma as she is above 18 points 

  • Due to the South African Nursing Council’s accreditation capacity, each program has a cap on the number of students it can admit. Even if you meet the minimum requirements, you won’t automatically be accepted into the program or registered. Tests and interviews will be required of candidates in order to further screen them.
    Candidates who have post-matriculant experience or a certificate related to health will be registered according to the quota for that group, which is as follows:
    Scholars: 50% of candidates who hold a certificate from pre-NSC Grade 12: 20% of candidates who have post-matric experience or a certificate related to health: 10% of Active Duty Officers: 20% Please be aware that the college’s admission requirements are subject to change, and
    will make significant investments in nurses for ECDoH facilities;
    will not invest in candidates who have tried other options, such as dropped out of universities, technical schools, or colleges;
    will not make investments in candidates who possess additional qualifications. The candidate will be disqualified in the event that this is discovered at any point during the procedure.
