DUT online application dates 2024-2025

This page has information on the DUT online application dates 2024-2025 for applicants.

  • The Durban University of Technology, DUT, has opened an admission portal for students interested in pursuing programs at the diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels at the institution. Admission registration and the closure of the admission portal have specific dates and deadlines. Because of the limited admission slots available at DUT, it is best to apply early as late entry is not permitted.
  • The application deadline or closing date is always a timeline set by the institution for application submission for admission into any course of interest. Every year, the submission deadline for South African schools (universities and colleges) falls between August and October.
  • As a result, before proceeding with the application, applicants are expected to meet the University’s minimum admission requirements and admission point score.

Fees for Applications

  • The full cost of the program, as well as the dates, are available on the International School’s website at http://www.dut.ac.za. Accommodation, instruction, materials, and travel arrangements are included in the fee for individual courses, tours, and a visit to a game park. All other expenses must be borne by the students. After admission, a US $150 deposit is required to secure a spot (by February 22 for early applications or April 25 for late applications).

Payment Method
Fees should be paid from countries other than South Africa by:

  • Account Number: 050007068 at STANDARD BANK, Durban Main Branch; Branch Code: 040026; SWIFT Code: SBZAZAJJ; Reference: G997 301374 (and name of student).
Please include your name and address, as well as a note that the payment is for the International School, and scan/e-mail payment proof to international@dut.ac.za.

Prerequisite for applying to Durban University of Technology

  • You have an NSC or NCV with an endorsement that allows you to study for a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification.
  • You meet all of the minimum admission requirements for the program in which you wish to enroll. Meeting the minimum admissions standards for your chosen/intended program of study does not guarantee admission, as each program has a limited number of spaces available.
  • You have a minimum level of 4 (50%) in the UFS language of instruction of your choice: English or Afrikaans (only applicable to certain programs).
  • To take a specific university module, you must pass certain high school subjects with a certain level of achievement. Please see the section on faculty-specific admission requirements, which includes the mandatory subjects and achievement levels required for each program.

Please keep in mind

  • 1. Acceptance notifications will be sent no later than May 30. You will obviously receive news much sooner if you have provided your E-mail address.
  • You must then make arrangements to pay the remaining fees by June 4, 2014.
  • Please scan and email payment proof to international@dut.ac.za.
  • Visa: To enter South Africa, US citizens must apply for a travel visa.
