HLABISA HOSPITAL NURSING SCHOOL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • The following are the Hlabisa Hospital Nursing School Admission Requirements: Copy of your school qualifications (such as Senior Certificate); Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable); Copy of your ID document (for RSA students) or ID / passport (for international students); Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable); Copy of your divorce decree (if applicable);
  • Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans

For admission to higher certificate or diploma programs and candidates educational certificate, prospective students must meet the statutory minimum requirements based on the National Senior Certificate (NSC) or equivalent school leaving certificate.

  • Levels and symbols obtained during the June/September exams for Grade 12 or confirmation that the current employer is processing study leave will be used to determine provisional admission. However, the final decision regarding enrollment at Hlabisa Hospital Nursing School will be based on the applicant’s final 12th grade grades, evidence that they have been granted study leave by their employer, and whether or not they have reached the pensionable age, which is 55 to 60 for all college programs.
    For each program, there are specific requirements. The Admission Point System, or APS, is used to assign points to your NSC or equivalent subjects:

For example, to register for a Basic Diploma you need an APS of at least 18 with a NSC/equivalent pass of Biology/Life Science at Level 4 or D Symbol and English at Level 3 or E Symbol Aggregate:

As she is above 18 points, applicants must meet the requirements for admission to the Diploma.

    • Due to the South African Nursing Council’s accreditation capacity, each program has a cap on the number of students it can admit. Even if you meet the minimum requirements, you won’t automatically be accepted into the program or registered. Tests and interviews will be required of candidates in order to further screen them.
      Candidates who have post-matriculant experience or a certificate related to health will be registered according to the quota for that group, which is as follows:Scholars: 50%
    • Candidates with pre-NSC Grade 12 certificate: 20%
    • Candidates with health related post matric experience/certificate: 10%
    • Serving Officers: 20%
  • Please note that admission requirements are subject to change and the college:
      • will make significant investments in nurses for ECDoH facilities;
        will not invest in candidates who have tried other options, such as dropped out of universities, technical schools, or colleges;
        will not make investments in candidates who possess additional qualifications. The candidate will be disqualified in the event that this is discovered at any stage during the process.

HLABISA HOSPITAL NURSING SCHOOL APPLICATION PROCEDURE 2023

Here are the Hlabisa Hospital Nursing School  Admission Requirements:

For entry into the NVC at NQF Level 2, you require:

  •  A year-end report for Grades 9, 10, 11 or 12 or an
  •  An NQF Level 1 qualification, or
  • an approved program to bridge the gap between NQF Level 1 and NQF Level 2 or
  • A Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) test to satisfy the fundamental prerequisites for NQF Level 2 access

Full Time Nated Courses
On registration, both the application fee for new students and the class fees are due.

All new applications must include the following:

  • Certified copy of latest school report/statement of results/Grade 12 or N3 certificate.
  • Six certified copies of ID of Learner.
  • Two certified copies of ID of Parent/Guardian.
  • One ID size photo of Learner.

The application cycle, which begins in April of each year, should be started as soon as possible.
