Is the 350 increasing? 2024-2025
Some Sassa social grant recipients may see an increase in their monthly payments in October following the organization’s fundraising efforts.
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) increased social benefits in October. The recipients were delighted to learn that the R350 SRD grant was extended for an additional year.
The amount of money spent on South Africans receiving social assistance was barely higher.
The following social grants will be increased:
- From R1980 to R1990, older age (60-74 years old) will increase.
- Age (75+ years) will rise from R2000 to R2010.
- From R1980 to R1990, the number of war veterans will rise.
- From R1980 to R1990, disability will rise.
- From R1980 to R1990, care dependency will rise.
These Sassa grants have all been increased by R10.
Because these funds were previously increased by R20 in April, the Foster Care Grant, Child Support Grant, and Grant-In-Aid have not been increased.
Lindiwe Zulu, Minister of Social Development, has stated that the Child Support Grant (CSG) Top-up will be introduced to assist orphaned children in the country.
Caregivers of orphaned children may apply for the CSG Top-up, which entitles them to R480 plus an additional R240 every month, for a total of R720 per child.
Here are the Sassa grant payment dates for November:
- Older Person’s Grants – 2 November
This includes any grants associated with these accounts.
- Disability Grants 3 November
This includes any grants that are associated with these accounts.
- Child Support Grants 4 November
The Sassa grant increases will take effect in October.
