Before submitting an application for admission, the Khanyisa Nursing School – Bushbuckridge Sub-Campus management has instructed all applicants to review these admission requirements.

Before applying, check the admission requirements for KHANYISA NURSING SCHOOL –BUSHBUCKRIDGE SUB-CAMPUS. All new applicants must upload all required documents, which typically include the following:

  • Sworn translations of documents that are not in English or Afrikaans are required if they are not in English or Afrikaans. The admission requirements for the Bushbuckridge Sub-Campus of Khanyisa Nursing School are listed below. Before submitting an application, applicants must carefully read the instructions.

KHANYISA NURSING SCHOOL –BUSHBUCKRIDGE SUB-CAMPUS GENERAL NOTES

For admission to higher certificate or diploma programs and candidates’ educational certificates, prospective students must meet the statutory minimum requirements based on the National Senior Certificate (NSC) or an equivalent school leaving certificate.

  • Levels and symbols obtained during the June/September exams for Grade 12 or confirmation that the current employer is processing study leave will be used to determine provisional admission. However, Khanyisa Nursing School – Bushbuckridge Sub-Campus’s final decision will be made based on the applicant’s final 12th-grade results, confirmation that the applicant has been granted study leave by the employer, and not yet reaching the pensionable age (55-60), which is required for all college programs.
    For each program, there are specific requirements. The Admission Point System, or APS, is used to assign points to your NSC or equivalent subjects:

For example, to register for a Basic Diploma you need an APS of at least 18 with an NSC/equivalent pass of Biology/Life Science at Level 4 or D Symbol and English at Level 3 or E Symbol Aggregate:

Applicants have to meet the requirements for admission into the Diploma as she is above 18 points 

 

  • Due to the South African Nursing Council’s accreditation capacity, each program has a cap on the number of students it can admit. Even if you meet the minimum requirements, you won’t automatically be accepted into the program or registered. Tests and interviews will be required of candidates in order to further screen them.
    Candidates who have post-matriculant experience or a certificate related to health will be registered according to the quota for that group, which is as follows:
    Scholars: 50% of candidates who hold a certificate from pre-NSC Grade 12: 20% of candidates who have post-matric experience or a certificate related to health: 10% of Active Duty Officers: 20% Please be aware that the college’s admission requirements are subject to change, and
    will make significant investments in nurses for ECDoH facilities;
    will not invest in candidates who have tried other options, such as dropped out of universities, technical schools, or colleges;
    will not make investments in candidates who possess additional qualifications. The candidate will be disqualified in the event that this is discovered at any point during the procedure.

Bridging course 

A two-year bridging course for enrolled nurses that leads to registration as general nurses (R 683)

For the following Khanyisa Nursing School campuses, bridging course (R683) interviews will be held on Tuesdays for the course beginning in June and January 2023:

  • Johannesburg main campus
  • Bushbuckridge sub campus
  • Witbank sub campus
  • Kroonstad sub campus

Interviews for (R 254) will only be held on Tuesdays at the Kroonstad Sub Campus.

  • Still awaiting SANC accreditation

Diploma in Nursing staff Nurse (R 171)
