GENERAL NOTES

For admission to higher certificate or diploma programs and candidates’ educational certificates, prospective students must meet the statutory minimum requirements based on the National Senior Certificate (NSC) or an equivalent school leaving certificate.

Levels and symbols obtained during the June/September exams for Grade 12 or confirmation that the current employer is processing study leave will be used to determine provisional admission. However, Lilitha College of Nursing’s final decision will be based on the applicant’s final grade 12 results, confirmation that the applicant has been granted study leave by the employer, and evidence that the applicant has not yet reached the pensionable age (55-60), which is required for all college programs.

For each program, there are specific requirements. The Admission Point System, or APS, is used to assign points to your NSC or equivalent subjects:

The applicant has earned more than 18 points, so she meets the requirements for admission to the Diploma.

Each program only accepts a certain number of students due to the South African Nursing Council’s accreditation of the program’s capacity. Even if you meet the minimum requirements, you won’t automatically be accepted into the program or registered. Tests and interviews will be required of candidates in order to further screen them.
Candidates who have post-matriculant experience or a certificate related to health will be registered according to the quota for that group, which is as follows:
Scholars: 50%
Candidates with pre-NSC Grade 12 certificate: 20%
Candidates with health-related post-matric experience/certificate: 10%
Serving Officers: 20%
Please be aware that the college’s admission requirements are subject to change, and
will make significant investments in nurses for ECDoH facilities;
will not invest in candidates who have tried other options, such as dropped out of universities, technical schools, or colleges;
will not make investments in candidates who possess additional qualifications. The candidate will be disqualified in the event that this is discovered at any point during the procedure.

Dear Candidate:
Please be aware that late applications are not accepted by the college. For the academic year 2023, you will need to wait until August 31 to apply next year.
Beginning in January, prospective students will be selected, and those who meet the requirements will be contacted by phone in February. The academic calendar for the first year begins in March.

A. Potential candidates and Nursing auxiliaries who completed Grade 12 previous to the current academic year.

Senior Certificate with endorsement.
National Senior Certificate – Bachelor’s Degree Pass.
Compulsory subjects: English HG E symbol / Level 4
An aggregate of 20 points on the rating scale.

From April 1 through August 31 of each year, the College must receive completed application forms.
You must fill up and sign the required Limpopo College of Nursing application form.
an authenticated copy of the senior certificate, identity book, and, if applicable, marriage certificate.
The rating scale is finished.
Certified evidence of SANC registration (where applicable)

B. Candidates currently in Grade 12 (NSC)

The minimum passing grade for English is level 4, or between 50 and 59%.
After the results of the Grade 12 examination are announced, candidates must submit certified copies of their statement of results to the registrar’s office by January 10th.

The school must certify in writing that an applicant for a grade 12 position is registered for a National Senior Certificate—Bachelors Degree Pass with English as a required subject.
From April 1 through August 31 of each year, the College must receive completed application forms.
You must fill up and sign the required Limpopo College of Nursing application form.
The Identity Document must be attached in a certified copy. (If an ID is not yet available, a birth certificate).

C. Admission requirements for candidates who are enrolled, Nurses

A Senior Certificate — Only compulsory subject: English
An aggregate of 20 points on the rating scale.
Certified proof of current registration with SANC.

certified copies of an identity document, a high school diploma, and a marriage license (where applicable)

NB 1 :

Include a deposit receipt for the administrative fee. The application will be rejected if it is not attached.
NB 2: On the application form, you must list the phone numbers of three friends or family members.
NB 3: Candidates must have received a national or senior certificate no more than three years prior.
