Mpumalanga College of Nursing Application 2023 – The Mpumalanga Province Citizens are invited by the Department of Health to apply for the four-year Diploma in Nursing (General, Community, & Psychiatry) and Midwifery at Mpumalanga College of Nursing. The Mpumalanga College of Nursing Application Form for 2023 is now open.

ADMISSION FOR TRAINING AS A NURSE: DIPLOMA IN NURSING (GENERAL, COMMUNITY & PSYCHIATRY) AND MIDWIFERY – 2023

  • All of the mandatory minimum requirements listed below must be met by applicants, not just some of them.
    • A diploma or degree-granting certificate from matriculation.
    • English at least at level 4 (HG D/SG C) or higher; • Life Sciences, Biology, and Physiology at level 4 (HG D/SG C) or higher.
    • Any one of Physical Science, Agriculture, or Geography; • Mathematics at least level 3 or (HG E /SG D) or Math Literacy at level 4 or higher; • Minimum total Admission Point Score (APS) of the six subjects with the highest levels must be at least 25 (excluding Life Orientation). A previous qualification in a nursing or similar program is not considered a requirement for admission and does not replace the aforementioned requirements.
    No consideration will be given to certificates that cannot be registered with the South African Nursing Council (such as ABET).
    Disability-related applicants will only be considered in light of the inherent requirements of nursing duties.
    Successful applicants are expected to apply:
    • To participate in Work Integrated Learning in health facilities and to attend lectures for theoretical knowledge, as required by the South African Nursing Council; • To sign an agreement with the Department of Health to work back the number of years trained.
NOTE:
  • For the duration of their studies, students will receive a fixed monthly stipend and will not be assigned posts.
  • At the College, there are no admissions fees.

    Physical applications should target:
    The Mpumalanga Provincial Government Office, Building No. 3, Riverside Park, Nelspruit, or by hand to the Director of Human Resources Development, Mpumalanga Department of Health, Private Bag X11285, Mbombela, 1200.
    Application form (MCoN001), no CV, and a certified copy of a matriculation certificate or statement of results or midyear grade 12 results for those still in Grade 12 are the required documents (if applying online, the documents will be required when shortlisted).
    • A certified copy of the identity document within three months of the closing date.
    • Proof of Residence from your Tribal or local municipal government

  • After receiving their final results, applicants in their 12th grade must either update their results online or hand-deliver them by January 15, 2023. Applications submitted via email or fax are not accepted.
