NSFAS Application Opening Date for Unisa 2024-2025: NSFAS offers financial assistance to Unisa students. The allowances provided by NSFAS to Unisa students differ somewhat from those received by students at traditional universities. It’s important to note that the online application opening dates for NSFAS in the 2024-2025 academic year are expected to commence on November 2, 2024, and conclude on January 21, 2024.
REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS DURING THE APPLICATION PROCESS
NSFAS requires additional information to process your application successfully. To ensure your application’s success, please provide the following supporting documents:
- Your personal cellphone number and email address.
- A copy of your ID or birth certificate.
- National ID copies for your parents, guardians, or spouse.
- Evidence of your income or one year’s IRP5, if applicable.
- Proof of income for your parents, guardian, or spouse.
- If you are a SASSA grant recipient, there is no need to provide income documentation.
- Applicants with disabilities should submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form.
- Applicants recognized as Vulnerable Children by the Department of Social Development should also provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.
How to Apply for NSFAS Online Application Form
- Visit the NSFAS Application website: www.nsfas.org.za
- Then, you click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab
- Create a myNSFAS account. If you don’t know how to create, click HERE
- Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab
- Update your personal information
- Answer the questions you see on the screen
- Upload all the required supporting documents
- Finally, you click on ‘submit
Who Can Apply For NSFAS Application Online Form?
- Here are the eligibility criteria for NSFAS funding:
- All South African citizens are eligible.
- All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding.
- Applicants with a combined household income not exceeding R350,000 per annum are eligible.
- Persons with a disability must have a combined household income not exceeding R600,000 per annum to qualify.
- Students who began their studies before 2018 are eligible if their household income is not more than R122,000 per annum.
