Late NSFAS Application for 2024-2025: The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has extended the opportunity for late applications to accommodate individuals who missed the initial application deadline due to various reasons. It is important to note that applying for financial aid late is not advisable. Therefore, regardless of your circumstances, it is crucial to submit your application as soon as possible.
The deadline for late NSFAS applications is November 30th. This year’s NSFAS application period spans four months, commencing on August 3 and concluding on November 30. No late applications will be accepted beyond this date.
REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS DURING THE LATE APPLICATION PROCESS
To ensure a successful NSFAS application, you must provide the following supporting documents:
- Your own cellphone number and email address.
- A copy of your ID or birth certificate.
- National ID copies of your parents, guardians, or spouse.
- Proof of your income or 1 year’s IRP5 if required.
- Evidence of income from your parents, guardian, or spouse.
- If you are a SASSA grant recipient, proof of income is not needed.
- Applicants with a disability should submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form.
- Applicants recognized as Vulnerable Children by the Department of Social Development should also provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.

- Visit the NSFAS Application website: www.nsfas.org.za
- Then, you click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab
- Create a myNSFAS account. If you don’t know how to create, click HERE
- Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab
- Update your personal information
- Answer the questions you see on the screen
- Upload all the required supporting documents
- Finally, you click on ‘submit
