Deadline for NSFAS Applications 2024-2025: The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially revealed that the online application window for the 2024-2025 academic year will open on November 2 and close on January 21, 2024. Those in pursuit of NSFAS funding should visit the NSFAS website at www.nsfas.org.za to access the application process. It’s crucial to emphasize that NSFAS will not entertain late applications for funding in 2024. Therefore, it is highly recommended that applicants complete their online submissions well ahead of the specified deadline.
Eligibility for NSFAS Bursary:
- All South African citizens.
- All recipients of SASSA grants are eligible for funding.
- Applicants from households with a combined annual income not exceeding R350,000.
- Individuals with disabilities from households with a combined annual income not surpassing R600,000.
- Students who commenced their studies before 2018 from households with an annual income not exceeding R122,000.

Mandatory Supporting Documents for the Application Process:
- Your personal cellphone number and email address.
- A copy of your ID or birth certificate.
- National ID copies of your parents, guardians, or spouse.
- Evidence of your income or a 1-year IRP5 statement, if necessary.
- Proof of income for your parents, guardian, or spouse.
- SASSA grant recipients are exempt from providing income documentation.
- Applicants with disabilities should submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form.
- Individuals recognized as Vulnerable Children by the Department of Social Development should provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.

How to Apply for NSFAS Online Application Form
- Visit the NSFAS Application website: www.nsfas.org.za
- Then, you click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab
- Create a myNSFAS account. If you don’t know how to create, click HERE
- Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab
- Update your personal information
- Answer the questions you see on the screen
- Upload all the required supporting documents
- Finally, you click on ‘submit
