Just recently, dates for the December 2024 SASSA payments became known. Continue reading to learn the dates that each social award is available.

The South African Social Security Agency has made available the payment dates for December 2024. All funds—grants for the disabled, grants for the elderly, and other grants—fall under this umbrella.

The SASSA has given various award types different payment dates in order to comply with social distance restrictions put in place to halt the spread of Covid-19.

These times were selected to prevent long lines at SASSA offices, banks, ATMs, and post offices.

According to SASSA’s schedule, the following are the payment dates for social grants in December 2024:

  • Grants for the elderly will be paid beginning on December 1, 2024. This includes any grants that are associated with these accounts.
Disability payments will begin on December 2, 2024. This includes any grants that are associated with these accounts.
All other grants will be paid beginning December 3, 2024. These include grants for children, foster care grants, and care dependency grants.

There is no specific payment date for the SRD award. However, the grant will not be paid out on the scheduled dates if you receive it at a post office.

Your collection day for Post Office payments is indicated by the final three digits of your ID number. The SASSA award payment schedule for December has not yet been disclosed by the Post Office. You can find out the dates for the November SRD grant payments by clicking here.

Before going out to collect their grants, recipients of the R350 grant who receive their SASSA grant payouts through the Post Office, a Boxer store, or a PicknPay store should wait for an SMS letting them know that their grants are ready.
