The fourth industrial revolution will have an impact on the soft skills that students will need in the future. Tvet Colleges can prepare their students for the fourth industrial revolution by aligning teaching and learning methodologies with future skill requirements.

The challenge for Africa as the world approaches the Fourth Industrial Revolution of artificial intelligence, robotics, and the internet of things is to provide its children with the knowledge and skills they will need in the new world of work through tvet colleges.

Reforming TVET is also critical, but only as part of a larger economic strategy that focuses on key sectors and needs, with clearly defined implementation plans that include monitoring and evaluation. The use of modern facilities, improved pedagogical skills, and increased practical experience among TVET trainers are all helping to improve TVET in Africa.

Technical and Vocational Education and Training programs are vocational or occupational in nature, implying that the student is looking for education and training in order to pursue a specific set of jobs, employment, or entrepreneurial opportunities. Under certain conditions, some students may be eligible for admission to the University of Technology to continue their studies at a higher level in the same field they studied at TVET College.

What are some of the emerging technologies in the fourth industrial revolution?
