Kimberley Tvet College is one of Northern Cape Urban College’s campuses. Northern Cape Technical College has been in existence since 1994. Many of our society’s problems, particularly the restructuring of the educational system, have been addressed by legislative frameworks and policies.

• The Northern Cape Department of Education then suggested that the three technical colleges be consolidated. In the first phase, R C Elliott Technical College and Moremogolo Technical College would be integrated into Kimberley College. The merger of the two organizations went into effect in January 1997.
• The merger went into effect on April 1, 2002. At the time, the Northern Cape FET College had two campuses: the Moremogolo site, formerly known as Kimberley College, and the City campus, formerly known as the Northern Cape Technical College. The name of the college was changed once more in 2015, and it is now known as the Northern Cape Urban TVET College. The College has been a member of DHET since April 2016.
