Unisa’s Durban campus has agreed to keep its registration offices open on weekends until the deadline on January 25th.
This comes after the university admitted to having difficulty dealing with huge lines outside their campus due to new and returning students waiting to register.
“We reached an agreement this past weekend to open our registration offices on weekends because the registration deadline is on January 25,” Unisa spokesperson Martin Ramotshela told IOL News.
Unisa workers could only deal with 1000 pupils every day, but there were almost 3000 students in line. Long lines had formed around campus, and some prospective students had resorted to camping overnight to ensure they were seen the next day.

Students and clients can access Unisa Regional Services, Regional Hubs, and Regional Centres for their studies and services. The following services are available at the Unisa Durban Regional Hub and Regional Service Centre:

Make use of a computer. However, the number of computers available at regional hubs and centers is restricted.
