The Social Security Agency of South Africa (Sassa) has announced that grant recipients with Sassa Gold Cards will not be able to collect their December 2022 grant payments from ATMs this month.

The organization said award recipients can in any case gather them at retail outlets including Fighter, Shoprite Checkers, Pick n Pay, and Usave stores around the country.

“Sassa award recipients utilizing the Postbank Gave gold vehicles are mentioned to pull out their advantages from retail vendors,” which made sense to the organization.

In the past few months, there have been a number of technical issues with Postbank. Beneficiaries of grants faced difficulties collecting their funds as a result of these technical issues.

They discovered a series of network attacks by criminal elements determined to commit systematic ATM card fraud-related crimes on Postbank payments as they investigated the cause of these technical glitches.

They added that this was carried out with sophisticated strategies that call for additional research.

Because of this, Sassa claims that Postbank must stop allowing beneficiaries with Postbank-issued Sassa gold cards to withdraw funds from ATMs in order to reduce the risk of these network attacks.

Sassa stated, “We assure our customers that a dedicated team of professionals has been assigned to deal with this challenge, assisted by experienced external experts and law enforcement agencies, and great progress has been made to close down all avenues used by these criminals.”

Beneficiaries of grants were reassured by the organization that their Sassa gold cards are still valid and have not expired. They said that beneficiaries shouldn’t be led to believe they need to change their cards unless they want to do so on their own.

The recipients of the grant will be informed when ATM transactions are once again available.
