The CashSend option, using their Sassa cards at retailers, or receiving the grant directly into their bank account are the three options available to beneficiaries for collecting their grants.

To get their social grants, Sassa grant recipients can go to Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Boxer, Checkers, USave, or OK. Swiping their Sassa cards at these retail establishments will not incur any fees for these beneficiaries.

Because the money will remain in their account until they decide to use it, recipients are reminded that they do not need to collect their grant as soon as it becomes available. They won’t have to stand in long lines outside stores if they wait a few days to get their social grant.

Child support, foster care, grant-in-aid, and war veterans grants are the remaining grants. These people will be able to purchase some necessities to get them through the month thanks to these grants.

As per measurements, starting around 2019 around 18 million South Africans got social awards from Sassa. These people are either at risk of falling into poverty or have a pressing need for financial assistance.
