  • Visit the self-service portal to verify your status and accept your offer.
  • The offer must be accepted within a certain window of time via SMS or the Self-Service portal. If you don’t accept the offer, another student will be given the available spot. There will be no phone or email acceptances. A single offer may only be accepted once.

  • Every day, we’ll monitor the situation and notify you via SMS or self-service as required.

The Initial Payment

  • All self-funded students must submit their first payment of tuition prior to registering. There is a set R9340 fee that each student is required to pay. Prior to registering, students must pay this fee. EFT payments must be sent four days before registration and must clear.
  • If you are unable to make this payment by the time you enroll, you will be required to request a delay in order to pay the full year’s fees by the end of May.
  • Students can complete the postponement on the student self-service portal and then immediately proceed to online registration.
  • Only after you’ve received and accepted an enrollment offer in a program are you eligible to request a postponement.

The initial fee payment is not required if you:

  • have received a tentative offer for NSFAS financing for 2024, have been given a full Wits University Scholarship, and meet the eligibility requirements, which means your family’s annual income is less than R350 000. If this applies to you, you must submit your request for a delay in the initial fee payment through the self-service portal.
  • All new students must declare their home and financial income during registration.
