Nsfas Application Dates 2024-2025
The 2024-2025 NSFAS application period is now open for first-time prospective students seeking funding for their higher education at public universities and TVET colleges. Additionally, continuing students who had previously unsuccessful NSFAS funding applications can reapply during the 2024 NSFAS application period. This application window will commence on August 3 and conclude on November 30. It is essential to note that late applications will not be considered. Therefore, all students interested in applying for NSFAS funding for the 2024 academic year must be aware of the specified application dates.
In order to facilitate the processing of your application, the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) will require various supporting documents, including:
- Your unique cellphone number and email address.
- A copy of your ID or birth certificate.
- National ID copies of your parents, guardians, or spouse.
- Evidence of your income or 1 year’s IRP5 if applicable.
- Proof of income for your parents, guardian, or spouse.
- SASSA grant recipients are exempt from providing income documentation.
- Applicants with disabilities should submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form.
- Vulnerable Child applicants designated by the Department of Social Development should provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form
How to Apply for NSFAS Online Application when opened
- Visit the NSFAS Application website: www.nsfas.org.za
- Then, you click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab
- Create a myNSFAS account. If you don’t know how to create, click HERE
- Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab
- Update your personal information
- Answer the questions you see on the screen
- Upload all the required supporting documents
- Finally, you click on ‘submit
Who qualifies for NSFAS funding?
- All South African citizens
- All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
- Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
- A person with a disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
- Students who started studying before 2018 whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.
How To View/Check My Nsfas Online Application Status
To check your NSFAS application status:
- Log into your myNSFAS account portal.
- Enter your ID or username and password.
- Click the SIGN IN! button.
- Once you log into your account dashboard, click on Track Funding Progress to check your application status.
- If your application has been successful, Congrats! If not, better luck next time.
