You might be wondering when you’ll receive your SASSA grant for June now that May is coming to an end. Continue reading to find out when the SASSA will be making grant payments in June 2024 so that we can help.

It is almost time for SASSA pay day as the month of May gets underway. The following dates apply to grant payments for June 2024.

The following payment dates have been made public by the South African Social Agency (SASSA) for the month of June 2024:

• Older Person’s Grants 3 June
  • This includes any grants that are associated with these accounts.
• Disability Grants 4 June
• This includes any grants that are associated with these accounts.
• Foster Care Grants 7 June
• Care Dependency Grants 7 June
• Child Support Grants 7 June

SASSA has advised beneficiaries not to rush to collection points when they receive their payment SMS in order to avoid long lines and being turned away without assistance.

SASSA provides grants to South Africans who are poor or vulnerable.

The application period for the Special Relief of Distress grant, which saw beneficiaries receive R350 each month, ended on April 30. SASSA has stated, however, that if you do not collect your R350 grant by the 30th of April, you will be able to do so later.

Appeals for the R350 grant are being accepted until May 31. This would give those applicants who were rejected a second chance to qualify for the grant if they were rejected unfairly.

Payments are made from the month you applied or submitted your appeal, so payments may not have stopped on 30 April. SASSA has not stated when the grant payments will end, owing to payment backlogs at the agency.

SASSA was established in 2005 to oversee the distribution of social grants on behalf of the Department of Social Development. This was done to improve the country’s living standards and is given to people who are vulnerable to poverty and/or in need of government assistance.

SASSA administers the Care Dependency Grant, Child Support Grant, Disability Grant, Foster Child Grant, Old Persons Grant, War Veteran’s Grant, Grant-In-Aid, and the well-known Social Relief Of Distress Grant.
