TVET colleges offer a wide range of career-focused vocational programs aimed to prepare young people for entry into the labor market or to become entrepreneurs who start and run their own businesses. When people enter the labor force, they have access to a wide range of alternative career opportunities. Many occupations will necessitate that college graduates earn additional certificates. Some public TVET colleges offer up to 300 different courses.

Among the numerous programs available are agriculture, arts and culture, business, building construction, commerce and management, education and training, engineering, manufacturing, technology, security, and services. The duration of the courses ranges from a few hours to three years for formal diploma courses. Most courses need full-time attendance; however, others are available through distance learning or mixed learning.
