According to SASSA, the R350 grant application process should be as easy and straightforward as is practical. Continue reading to learn how to apply for an SRD grant via GovChat as result.

The second round of R350 grant applications was made available by SASSA early in August, and it will be accepted until March 2024.

GovChat is one channel through which to submit an SRD grant application. Here’s how to approach it:

• Go to the GovChat website
• Enter your phone number
• Complete the Captcha
• Click ‘LOGIN’
• Click on ‘SASSA Services’
• Click on ‘SASSA Grants’
• Click on ‘Apply for a grant
• Click on ‘Social relief of distress (R350)’
• Click on ‘Create New Form’
• Fill in the required information
• Click on ‘SUBMIT PERSONAL DETAILS’
• After that, you will be given a reference number.

All applicants will be required to sign a statement and consent form since SASSA will be engaging with other institutions to verify the information given by applicants.

You will need to execute a SASSA grant status check to track the status of your R350 grant application. Click here to learn how to do this.

Once your application has been accepted, you will be compensated. You won’t need to submit an application every month as SASSA will check to see whether you still qualify regardless of whether SASSA approved your R350 grant application.

Within 30 days of obtaining informed of your rejection status, you must file an appeal on the internet.
