grant r350 2024-2025
Information on Sassa grants for the fiscal year 2024–2025 is contained in this article.
To those in need, the South African government offers social assistance. Social grants in South Africa are managed by the SASSA. Social handouts are given to people who are about to go hungry and who require government help to improve their standard of living. These are typically older people, parents of young children, and those who have disabilities. Refugees, South African citizens, and legal permanent residents are the only people who are eligible to receive social grants. Furthermore, they have to be South African citizens.
What is a means test?
- Some social benefits, including child support, disability, care dependency, and social relief of distress, are subject to a “means test.” SASSA will utilize the means test to evaluate whether you qualify for a social grant based on your income and assets. The means test determines your eligibility for a grant designed for persons who cannot afford to live independently.
Care dependency allowance
Care dependency grants may be available to parents with disabled children who are full-time workers. What amount of money will be distributed overall as part of this grant?
- R1 860 per child, per month.
How do you know if you’re approved for the grant?
- The child must be under the age of 18 and permanently incapacitated, as established by a medical officer, to be eligible for the care dependency award. If you’re married, you and your spouse must both meet the qualifying requirements for the means test. The links listed below will help you with your Sassa application.
