Nsfas Loan Application 2024-2025
Nsfas Loan Application 2024-2025: National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) invites students to apply for funding for the 2024-2025 academic year. The Funding is available to students who are currently studying (who have been funded by NSFAS previously, as well as students who have NOT been funded by NSFAS previously), and students who will be starting their studies in 2024. Funding is open for tertiary studies at public universities or TVET colleges in South Africa (it does NOT cover private institutions). Funding is available to students who are in need of financial assistance and can not pay for the cost of their tertiary education. The NSFAS application doors will be opened for the year 2024-2025 to all applicants from the 7th of November 2023 and close on the 21st of January 2024. Applicants are therefore urged to apply within the application deadline with the documents listed below.
Who qualifies for the NSFAS Funding?
- All South African citizens
- All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
- Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
- A person with a disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
- Students who started studying before 2018 whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.
Required Supporting Documents Needed To Apply NSFAS Online.
To complete your NSFAS Bursary Online Application for 2024-2025, you must have the following information:
- You must have a phone number and an email address of your own.
- A copy of your ID or birth certificate is required.
- You should also provide copies of your parents’, guardians’, or spouse’s identification cards.
- 1 year’s worth of IRP5 or proof of income (if applicable,)
- Proof of income from your parents, guardians, or spouse
- SASSA grant beneficiaries are not required to show proof of income.
- All disabled applicants must present a completed and signed Disability Annexure. A Document

How to Apply for NSFAS Online Application
- Visit the NSFAS Application website: www.nsfas.org.za
- Then, you click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab
- Create a myNSFAS account. If you don’t know how to create, click HERE
- Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab
- Update your personal information
- Answer the questions you see on the screen
- Upload all the required supporting documents
- Finally, you click on ‘submit
