The Master in Project Management prepares graduates to manage projects throughout the project life cycle by using scientific thinking and advanced interdisciplinary skills.

Considering projects to be temporary endeavors, the program facilitates learning of project management fundamentals to enable learners to identify, develop, implement, and close projects. Aside from the core project management modules, the program views projects as strategic initiatives, with modules addressing the environment, people, and benefits realization.

The MPM prepares graduates to manage projects throughout the project life cycle by utilizing scientific thinking and advanced interdisciplinary skills.

Students will achieve the following academic outcomes upon completion of the program:

• Begin, plan, and carry out a project.
• Create and implement a project organization that includes both internal and external stakeholders.
• Use analytical tools and techniques to solve problems and make decisions.
• Configure project control mechanisms.
• Provide strategic direction and ethical and responsible leadership to the project team.

Accreditation

• The Graduate School of Technology Management is a Global Education Provider with the Project Management Institute in the United States.
• The Master’s Programme in Project Management (MPM) received international accreditation from the PMI in 2008 and is the only project management master’s degree course on the African Continent that is accredited by the Project Management Institute’s GAC (Global Accreditation Center) (USA).
• The South African Council for Project and Construction Management Professions has also accredited the MPM program (SACPCMP).
