The University of the Western Cape, or UWC, is a national university dedicated to teaching and learning excellence. They are now accepting applications for the 2024 academic year. Apply right away!

Students must submit their applications online through the university’s online application site.

How to Applu
Prospective students can apply by completing the following steps:

  • Click here to see the UWC online application form.
  • Choose between undergraduate and postgraduate applications.
  • Complete all of the essential fields.
  • Please submit all relevant documentation.

Current matric students must submit their final grade 11 results or June 2021 exam results, while post-matric students (those who have already passed matric and obtained their NSC results) must submit their NSC results.

Current grade 12 students do not need to submit any documents at this time because the application form has all of the relevant information.

Post-matriculants must submit the following documentation:

  • NSC Certificate or Senior Certificate certified copy
  • Identification Document certified copy
  • Proof of any studies with academic records you may have completed, if applicable
  • If applicable, evidence that you are currently working to improve your NSC outcomes.
  • An affidavit summarizing your activities following your matric year.

    Applications will only be deemed complete if all essential documents have been supplied by the prospective student.

Application Closing Dates

  • Bachelor of Dentistry and Bachelor of Oral Health: 31 August
  • All other faculties: 30 September

Students are encouraged to research the admission requirements for the degree they intend to pursue before applying.

Once students have applied, they should receive an acknowledgement of receipt of the application through SMS or email, which will include an application number that students must keep secure in case they have a question for the institution.
