WALTER SISULU UNIVERSITY’S UNDERGRADUATE COURSES

WSU offers the following undergraduate courses; full details are provided below:

Business, management science, and law undergraduate programs

• APS: 28
• Senior Certificate: Matriculation Exemption

• NSC (Degree): A minimum of 4 in English and Mathematics, as well as any other four recognized subjects.

• Senior Certificate: Full Matriculation Exemption
• Accounting is recommended
• NSC (Degree): A minimum of 5 in English and 5 in Mathematics is required.

• APS: 28
• Senior Certificate: Exemption from matriculation.
• NSC (Level) No less than a 4 must be given for the English language.
• The minimum score in mathematics is 4 (50–59%).
• any four other NSC subjects with a minimum of four points and recognition

DIPLOMAS

• The senior certificate requires English HG-E, Business Economics, Geography, History, Travel and Tourism Studies, and Accounting.
• Master’s/Diploma NSC a minimum of three in English as a first language (40%) OR a minimum of four in other languages (50%) (NSC weight factor 3).
• A score of at least 4 (or 50%) on the Life Orientation scale (NSC weight factor 2).
• A minimum of four (50%) points in mathematics OR a minimum of four (50%) points in mathematics literacy (using the NSC weight factor 3). (3rd NSC weight factor).
• Take all other 20-credit courses with at least a 4 (50%) OR add three 20-credit courses with at least a 4 (50%). (NSC weight factor 3). (1st NSC weight factor)
• Accounting, Business Studies, and Economics require a minimum of 4 (50%) (NSC weight factor 3) and Economics requires a minimum of 4 (50%) (NSC weight factor 3).
• A minimum of 4 (or 50%) in geography (NSC weight factor 3).
• For computer applications technology, the minimum score is 4 (or 50%). (3rd NSC weight factor).

• Senior Certificate: English and mathematics subject grades of 3 or higher are required, and accounting subject grades of HG-E/SG-D.

• English as a first or home language must have a minimum score of 3 (40-49% on the NSC (Graduate/Diploma) scale.
• At least three (40-49%) of the four NSC 20 credit subjects are accepted.
• A minimum score of 3 (40-49%) or 2 (30-39%) is required for mathematical literacy when math is combined with accounting and/or business studies.
• Proof of subject completion in the form of certified results from FET colleges is required for exemption.
• To achieve the goal of a development intervention, an interview could be conducted.
