How to register UP Online 2024-2025

This page provides guidance on registering for UP Online for the academic year 2024-2025.

It is essential to note that you must initiate your registration at the commencement of each module until you fulfill all qualification requirements. Failure to renew your registration at the start of each module will result in the inability to access online resources or communicate with your lecturers or supervisor.

• Before the applicant can register, a contract must be agreed upon between the applicant and the University of Pretoria. Students can access the contract online via the UP Portal and Student Center on the student portal. Students must fill out the contract online, submit it, and then print and sign it. The completed and signed contract must be uploaded to the UP Portal’s student portal as soon as possible, under Upload Supporting Documentation.

The Up Online Launch Dates

• The first day of your first module is designated by the start date.
• The application deadline is two weeks before the start date.
• Registration opens four weeks before the session begins and closes one day before the module session begins.
• If payment is not received by the payment deadline, which is five days after the module start date, access to Blackboard/clickUP is revoked.
• Registration: You must register for each module before the registration deadline.

UP Online registration application guidelines:

Please sign in to the UP Student Portal, select the UP Student Centre link, and then look for holds in the student center’s right column. Students will not be able to register online if there are any holds.

First-year students should only sign up for core modules since they may not be familiar with their curriculum. After attending the orientation program and receiving curriculum advice, elective modules can be added. With fixed curricula, first years can always register for their modules in the order they appear on the registration page.As of January 4, current students must register entirely online. Please take note that there is no set schedule for these students’ registration.
