TVET colleges provide a variety of career-focused vocational programs that are specifically designed to prepare young people for entry into the labor market or to become entrepreneurs who start and run their own enterprises. Once people enter the labor force, a variety of alternative job choices become available. Many jobs will require college graduates to obtain extra credentials. Some public TVET colleges provide up to 300 courses.

Agriculture, arts and culture, business, building construction, commerce and management, education and training, engineering, manufacturing, technology, security, and services are among the various programs available. The courses range in length from a few hours to three years for formal diploma courses. Most courses need full-time attendance, however, others are available via distance learning or blended learning, which mixes attendance, electronic delivery, and self-study.
