University of Limpopo online Application Status 2024-2025

The University of Limpopo School (UL) Admission Requirements for the academic year 2024/2025 are subject to annual changes for all undergraduate, diploma, and postgraduate degrees. To be considered for acceptance into any first- or second-degree programs at the University of Limpopo, applicants must meet the following prerequisites. CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION TO LIMPOPO UNIVERSITY

  • The admission requirements for the University of Limpopo (UL) are listed in the 2024-2025 UL admission prospectus, which is available below.
  • Remember to meet or exceed the entrance requirements outlined in the prospectus. Only those with a Bachelor’s Degree are eligible to apply for admission.

Bachelor’s degree exemption for the National Senior Certificate (NSC)

Prospective students with an NSC who wish to enroll in any undergraduate program at the University of Limpopo must meet the following requirements:

  • At least a level three of achievement in Life Orientation (3).
  • According to the university’s language policy, English as a language of learning and instruction must have an achievement level of at least three (3).
  • The minimum requirements for achievement in specific subjects, as specified in each Faculty’s calendar, are as follows: For degree programs, four 20-credit subjects must be completed with a minimum NSC achievement level of four (4); for diploma programs, four 20-credit subjects must be completed with a minimum NSC achievement level of three (3). (3).
    the required Admission Point Score (APS), as specified in the calendar for each faculty

Note that achieving the required APS for a certain program does not ensure admission.

High School Diploma (prior to 2008)

  • Students who successfully completed Grade 12 prior to 2008 are eligible to apply for admission to the university with the regular Grade 12 Senior Certificate and full university exemption by changing their grade symbols to an APS.

National Diploma (Vocational)

  • Students who have successfully completed a National Certificate Vocational NC(V) Level 4 qualification must meet the following prerequisites, as well as placement tests and faculty admission requirements:
  • 3 essential subjects at NC(V) level 4 certificate with 60% (including Life Orientation) and 4 relevant vocational subjects at 70% for degree programs
  • For the NC(V) level 4 certificate, three fundamental subjects are worth 50% (including Life Orientation), and three mandatory vocational subjects are worth 60% for diploma programs.

APS

Any prospective student can easily determine if they meet the minimum admission requirements by using a simple calculation based on their NSC or Grade 12 university exemption results.

  • The University of Limpopo and an interesting program offered by a Faculty within the University.
  • Obtaining the required APS for a specific program, however, does not guarantee admission.
  • The computation is performed by adding the achievement levels from six (6) recognized 20-credit subjects in accordance with the Faculty requirements.

The following levels of achievement are indicated (please keep in mind that the APS does not consider life orientation):

Position Test

  • The University of Limpopo will administer National Benchmarking Tests to prospective students. The results of the test will be analyzed in terms of student profiles and the distribution of appropriate support.

Programs with an Extended Curriculum (ECP)

  • The institution provides extended curriculum programs that are similar to standard undergraduate degree programs but give students an extra year to complete the learning objectives. The placement test results are especially important for admission to these programs.
