For the academic year 2024-2025, CPT has established a set of application requirements. This page contains information about the application requirements. Continue reading to learn more.

Every university has its own set of rules and regulations that applicants must follow. Please keep in mind that in order to be admitted to CPUT, you must meet the specific requirements for your chosen candidate qualification. All requirements must be met for an application to be accepted quickly.

Candidates must be aware of the minimum APS Score established by cput before applying.

International applicants must meet admission requirements

Admission Requirement

The admission requirements for the various CPUT programs can be found under Programs and fees. You may also be asked to take a number of exams to aid in your placement.

Students using the Cambridge system should be aware of the following requirements:

At least five IGCSE and HIGCSE topics must be passed, at least two of which must be at the HIGCSE level.
a passing grade in the primary language of instruction at the university (English or Afrikaans).
particular passing scores: A, B, or C for IGCSE; 1, 2, or 3 for HIGCSE.

Any additional senior school credentials will be evaluated.

Applicants must follow the guidelines for CPUT Online applications to avoid having their applications rejected. It should also include all application criteria. More information on the admission requirements for international applicants can be found here.
