- The South West Gauteng Institution is a public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college governed by the Department of Higher Education and Training and operating under the Continuing Education and Training Act, Act No.16 of 2006, as amended (DHET).
Umalusi and various Sector Education and Training Authorities (Setas) have certified the College to provide education and training, primarily in the FET band (NQF Level 2 to 4).

SWGC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
According to the College, all applications must be accompanied by supporting documentation.
The following documents, in addition to the completed application forms, must be brought:
- a certified copy of the most recent qualification/results
- a copy of your driver’s license that has been certified
- If you have a disability or an ongoing medical condition that necessitates special assistance from the College, please submit a medical statement from a qualified doctor.
HOW DO I APPLY FOR SWGC?
- Step 1: Get your application form from the school’s campus.
To avoid rejection, make sure you submit your application within the application deadline. - Step 2: Fill out the form and attach all required documents to back up your application.
- Step 3: Keep in mind that you’ll need an email address to complete the form; if you don’t already have one, create one now.
