An associate of the University of Pretoria, the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS Business School) is a business school in South Africa. It is situated close to the Sandton financial and commercial district in Illovo, Johannesburg. The Association of MBAs and the Council on Higher Education (CHE) both accredit GIBS internationally (AMBA).
With flagship programs like the Masters in Business Administration (MBA), Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (PDBA), and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA/Ph.D.), it is recognized as one of the top business institutions in South Africa and all of Africa. The GIBS DBA was the first doctoral program in business in South Africa to acquire international accreditation from AMBA in 2012. Along with short courses and senior-level programs like the Global Executive Development & General Management Programs, GIBS also provides company-specific programs. The Social Entrepreneurship Program, Leading Women Program, and Nexus Leadership Programme is examples of extended programs, which are longer certificate programs.
