A private higher education institution, AFDA offers programs in radio, podcasting, business innovation and technology, performance, cinema, television, and other media. It includes campuses in Durban North, Durban, Observatory, Auckland Park, Johannesburg, and Central, Port Elizabeth. certifications, undergraduate degrees, and graduate degrees are available. They consist of the following:
- Higher Certificate in Film, Television, and Entertainment Production;
- Higher Certificate in Performing Arts;
- Higher Certificate in Radio and Podcasting;
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Motion Picture Medium;
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Live Performance;
- Bachelor of Commerce (Bcom) in Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship;
- Bachelor of Creative Writing;
- BA Honours in Motion Picture Medium;
- BA Honours in Live Performance;
- Postgraduate Diploma in Innovation; and
- Master of Fine Arts (MFA).
- The South African Qualifications Authority and the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) have registered the Higher Certificate and Degree programs that AFDA provides (SAQA).
- In four important South African cities, AFDA has campuses. Every location welcomes a variety of students and offers a special setting for collaborative learning.
- Alumni of the AFDA are talented, connected, and have won awards. They significantly aid in the expansion of the regional entertainment market.

What is AFDA’s full name?
- It appears that a lot of people have been curious as to what AFDA stands for. Previously, it stood for Africa Film Drama Art. Today, however, it is merely AFDA, the School for the Creative Economy, and is not designed to stand for anything (registered as The South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance).
- However, neither AFDA nor our campus residences provide housing on the student’s behalf. Private student housing, youth/student hostels, garden cottages, and rental and shared apartments and homes may be on the list.
