The Baptist Theological College of Southern Africa 2024-2025
Through the provision of theological education that is both evangelically faithful and contextually relevant, the Baptist Theological College has prepared thousands of believers for ministry for the past 70 years. BTC is pleased to provide a range of certified degrees, from certificate to postgraduate levels.
- The Baptist Union of Southern Africa created the Baptist Theological College of Southern Africa, also referred to as BTC, as a ministerial training facility in 1951. The College, a recognized institution of higher learning, accepts applicants from churches of all denominations who feel called to serve in Christian ministry and works to train believers for ministry.
- Although the College’s campus and headquarters are in Randburg, South Africa, it accepts students from all across the country and beyond for its contact and distance learning programs.
- Prof. ‘Piff’ G. C. Pereira, the college’s current principal, followed Prof. Martin Pohlmann, who held the position from 2004 to 2017.
- We welcome students from a wide range of denominations as long as they are ready to accept our Statement of Faith, despite the fact that our College has strong Baptist roots and we are proud of our rich Baptist legacy. Our Statement of Faith is based on the Baptist Union Assembly resolution adopted at its meeting in Durban in September 1924.
- Our dedication to the inspired Word of God and our conviction that the Church can and should be relevant in modern culture have shaped our theological education.
